Ms. Eken grew up in Milford, Ohio, just outside of Cincinnati. She grew up playing soccer, softball, and the clarinet. After high school she went to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where she received her B.A. in Secondary Integrated Language Arts in 2005. After college, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, where she substitute taught and tutored for the next two years.

Ms. Eken moved to Pinellas County in 2007 to teach at Osceola Middle School. This is her fifth year teaching eighth-grade Language Arts and third year teaching Speech/Debate at OMS. In addition to her teaching duties, she is one of the sponsors for the National Junior Honor Society. She also enjoys helping and supporting the sports and arts programs at OMS. It has always been a dream of hers to live in Florida, so she couldn't be happier where she is today.

Ms. Eken teaches Speech and Debate and Language Arts 3. She also sponsors NJHS.
