The emerging curriculum changes with new technology and trends. My focus is to give students the skills and access to software that will help them learn about specific jobs and assist them in choosing a career path. I also reinforce their academic subjects through interdisciplinary studies while completing lessons in my class. These are some of the software programs that are currently available to our students; Career Strands: Photography, Graphic Artist, Publishing Adobe Photoshop Adobe Lightroom Career Strands: Multiple career applications Microsoft Office Word PowerPoint Excel Access Publisher Career Strands: Video Game Designer, Computer Programmer, Computer Engineer, Animator, Audio Engineer, 3D Modeler, Graphic Artist, Script Writer Game Maker (free program available at www.yoyogames.com) Career Strands: Recording Engineer, Musician, Jingle Writer, Loop Artist, Sound Effects Artist, Foley Sony Acid Music Career Strands: Drafting, Architect, Animator, 3D Modeling Google Sketchup (free program available at http://sketchup.google.com/) Career Strands: Website Designer, Web Master Adobe Dreamweaver Word Press Microsoft Publisher Career Strands: Computer Animator, 3D modeling Blender (free program available at http://www.blender.org) Here is another free program available to students who may like photoshop, but do not have the software at home. www.gimp.org Gimp is a free software that is similar to Adobe Photoshop Elements.
